Junior Firefighters

The Ellicott City Fire Station #2 held an open house today from 1-4 pm. (A wretched time for napping little ones).  After 40 days of rain, we decided to wake Evie from her nap and leave the ark.  Fortunately the rain let up while we meandered through the parking lot for 30 minutes.

First stop, hats and a goodie bag
We invited the Hettingers to come with us because all events are more chaotic fun with our cousins

High fives with "Sparky".  There were two real dalmatians there too

Evie was overwhelmed by all the people and big trucks at first.  She talked all day about seeing the firetrucks, but when the time arrived to check them out, she needed a little coaxing.

Thumbs Up (or Peace)

Firetruck beauty
We missed some of the demonstrations and the tour.  Cole got an opportunity to hose down a fire

Hannah enjoyed face painting

Hannah and her audience
As always, we try a cousin group shot and end up with bloopers

Hannah and Evie show us the fireman rubber duckies from
their goodie bags while Cole collects firewood

The girls nicely comparing toys.  Cole being Cole.
And Braylen taking notes for next year

A little cropping action helps.
Don't you love Cole's frog boots?

The calm before they realized there were mini
flashlights in their bags.  We only had one working
one...  there were tears.

The event was even better because G came with us!  Thank you firefighters for a fun event and for being heroes :)  (shout out to my firefighter cousin, Nick!)

Great pictures. Looks like they all had a blast including parents. Love Pops and Paula.
