Great Outdoors

It was a sweatshirt type morning on Saturday and therefore a perfect morning for a stroller ride through the nearby state park.  The Patapsco River runs adjacent to the paved Avalon Trail, creating a peaceful and beautiful setting for a family walk.

The swinging bridges are a big draw to the trail.  We cross over one from the street to the trail and again about a mile in to cross the river.

There is a reason it is called the swinging bridge.

Luckily the river is low due to no rain recently.  I'm not sure
how I would feel if she was overlooking a raging river

My blond beauty

The soothing sounds of nature didn't
help Braylen fall asleep until the last 10
minutes of the trip... typical.
After walking across and back the bridge, Evie and Daddy threw rocks into the river (I gave Braylen a bottle)

Notice the swinging bridge in the background

I tease Jason about living in a cave since he didn't do a lot of the things us "normal" kids did growing up.  After watching Jason skip rocks like pro, I realized this is what he must have done while I played Clue.

Evie and Daddy recommending different rocks to each other

Picture perfect

She may be small, but that girl can lift some heavy rocks

The other highlight of our family outdoor adventure was the train.  On one side of the trail is the river, the other side is the still functioning rail line (B & O Railroad.... That's a property in Monopoly.. that game most of us played as kids Jason... )

I made Jason climb a steep incline to show Evie the tracks.
He's still sore today

Coming back down

One of my favorite part of the trail-
walking under the railroad bridge

About .25 miles from the car, the train came through!
We weren't in a prime viewing area, but Evie saw the
whole thing.  So exciting!!!

We had such a fun morning together as a family.  Fall is in the air!

This one took a 3+ hour nap that afternoon.
We will throw rocks more often!

Surprised we didn't see you. We were down there yesterday morning and today late afternoon. Kellen loves the tunnel and Noelle loves the bridge!
