Last Swim Class

Evie had her last swim class tonight.  She asked me to come watch her "jump off starting block".  Apparently last week they practiced jumping into the pool from the wall and then off the starting blocks!  Daddy said she jumped in a few times, taking on a ton of water.  I was excited to see her in action this week.

Unfortunately, Miss Sam, her swim instructor, was not there today, so there was a sub teacher.  She didn't do any of the normal fun songs with them.  How disappointing for her last class.  From my two times at the Y to watch her and from Daddy's stories, I am thrilled with her first swim class experience.  It was a great bonding activity for her and Daddy and she clearly made progress over the last 7 weeks.

Evie was cold and timid around the sub, so the starting block jump wasn't the big finale we thought it would be.  Nevertheless, I captured something.  (this one is slightly painful to watch.  I promise, she does go in)  

Since she needs to take the same swim class again based on her age, we aren't signing her up again.  Instead, she starts gymnastics next Friday!
