Jason and I have been waiting for this weekend for months; the weekend the Blue Angels returned to Baltimore. It's been two years since their last air show here and 4 years since our first experience with these awesome jets. (A few years ago I somehow deleted our ENTIRE album of photos since Evie's birth. Like millions of pictures gone. But never really gone... I restored some from the recycling bin. Needless to say, all my hard work of organizing photo went out the window. I'm sad to see my link to 4 years ago has no pictures on it... I want to grieve all over again... someday I will have time to reorganize pictures... HA! )
We decided to stick with the same free viewing area of the previous two air shows; don't fix what ain't broken. The Wik family joined us again this year. Once you see them once, you are kind of addicted to the speed and sound! We unloaded 4 large bags of snacks, 2 blankets, 8 chairs, 2 backpacks full of stuff my kids selected, a kick ball, and drinks (no alcohol... shockingly). All of this loot, plus 8 people was relocated 2 times. We finally got settled in a tree-blocking free area!
The only thing blocking my way was a bald head!
More friends had the same idea as us
The jets are LOUD, so those headphones were helpful to sensitive ears. Yes, some of them were true headphones with the plug at the end...
The air show comprised of a stunt plane, the Geico skytypers, some loud jet, some other planes in formation, then the main event at 3 pm, the Blue Angels! (I had no program so that is my interpretation of what we saw)

After 2 plus hours of hanging out, the kids were starting to close patience and excitement over the impending main event
Promptly at 3 PM, the 6 Blue Angels took to the sky. They gave us thrills and chills for 45 minutes.
Totally awesome! As you can tell from the sky and our outfits, it was a perfect Fall day to watch an air show- slightly chilly with blue skies.
Because one day with the Angels is just not enough, the Hollencamps went to Martin State Airport to see where the planes/jet take off and land. We had other plans later in the day so we missed the Blue Angels leaving. There were plenty of other "wows" to be had though.
Braylen and Evie got to pick out a souvenir from our weekend; Braylen picked out a model Blue Angel jet which he flew all over the tarmac and Evie selected a pin.

Braylen was eager to fly any plane he could
One short "air show" from this fighter jet
The stunt pilot practiced all his moves using his hands before he boarded his plane.
After a thorough inspection, 2 planes were replaced. They renumbered the planes.

I am already searching the Internet to find when the Blue Angels will be back in town. I saw an article that suggests Baltimore might make Fleet Week a bi-annual thing. The countdown begins for 2018!
