Disney: Day 1- Getting There

It all started with a $20 bingo ticket to support my church's orphan ministry, Project Hope, on September 11, 2015.  The very last prize to be won, the biggest one of all, was a Disney package, with 4 hopper passes included.  Yours truly won it!

In disbelief that I won!

A trip to Disney was not in our plans, but after I won 4 FREE tickets to any park for one day, our plans changed. We waited until almost the last possible time to go before they expired in December 2016; we wanted Braylen potty trained AND able to function without naps.

So early November 2016, here we go to Disney for the first time with the kids.  Thankfully for us, G and Poppop hooked us up with a timeshare for our stay as well as two extra travel companions.  Win-win-win!

Monday, 9 AM, off to Disney World!

Oh yes, it's a holiday on Southwest Airlines...
That means one FREE drink!  Mimosa and Bloody Marys

We arrived in Orlando and began our transportation hopping adventure. The next mode of transportation was the shuttle from the terminal.

Since we didn't stay on Disney property, we needed to rent a vehicle big enough for 6 people and luggage.  The 6 people and luggage were in it, but 3/6 were very uncomfortable.  #IMissedMyVan

G and Poppop have been raving about Bonnet Creek Resort for years; they promised to take us there when we went to Disney.  I heard mixed feedback about staying on property versus not.  I have ZERO regrets about the way we did it.  We passed Epcot just before we turned into our resort; it was that close.  And just look at this place!  There were 5 pools and 2 lazy rivers.  Thank you G and Poppop, you were right, it is FABULOUS!

Who needs Disney when we have a pool or two or FIVE?  :)

The tower where our room was located had been refurbished; it was beautifully fresh and clean.  We were all beat after a day of travel and fun at the pool.  The kids were in bed by 6:50 and the adults by 9:30 PM.  Tomorrow the "magic" begins!
