First Easter

We had a whirlwind weekend for Evie's first Easter.  When most of our family lives in a different state, that is par for the course.  Not working makes traveling so much easier on me, and therefore our whole family.  I actually don't mind running around on holiday weekends now.

Good Friday we hosted the Evans family.  Once they met up their family on Saturday, we packed up the family and went to Grandmom's house.  Evie sees her Grandmom so frequently that there were no issues being in her arms within 2 minutes of arriving.  Let's hope the stranger anxiety/mama attachment phase is about over.

Saturday night Evie chowed down on yummy beef burgundy for dinner and went down for Grandmom while Mom and Dad went down the street for some adult conversation and drinks.  A great night for all :)

On Sunday we went to the small church down the street for Easter service.  Evie sat nicely though the service.  She especially liked the brass.  After church she had an egg hunt at Grandmom's house.  The eggs were stuffed with puffs and yogurt bites to make some noise for her.  Evie's current phase is to put objects in and out of containers, so picking up eggs and putting them in a basket wasn't a difficult task for her.

After a quick snack, we made the 45 minute trip to Great Aunt Carol and Uncle Bill's house.  Evie was a gem at their house considering there were 23 people (G's family and Carol's family) looking at her and she napped for a grand total of 35 minutes all day.  Amanda, Carol's 5 year old niece, became instant friends with Evie.  Evie loved her attention and sat on her lap better than on Aunt Carol's :)

Easter at Aunt Carol and Uncle Bill's house is always filled with lots of good food, home brewed beer, and a million laughs.   Evie also took part in the Easter egg hunt here.  She was the youngest by 4 years.  Clearly Dad had to help her.  I do miss taking part in the egg hunt.  I have been the victor for YEARS at my mom's "hunt".  When Evie is old enough, GAME ON GIRL!

We spent one more night at Grandmom's house and traveled back to Maryland Monday morning... when the stomach bug slowly visited everyone in our family, dog included.  YUCK!  Don't worry, no pictures included

Hide and re-hide those Easter eggs around your house all spring/summer and Evie will give you a run for your money in no time flat. :)

Love the family lavender! The girls had purple Easter dresses, but I failed to coordinate Nick and me. There's always next year...
