One Exciting Party

For Evie's first birthday we had a small gathering of her immediate family and her biggest supporter friend, Erin.  Evie won't remember this party, so we kept it simple with lunch, dessert, and gifts.  Her theme, if we need one, was Minnie Mouse.  I picked it out mostly because it had "1" on it and it was pink.  Jason did a great job decorating the house and I whipped up a tasty lunch.  Low stress and fun!

There were only two handfuls of people there, yet Evie received a plethora of gifts.  Her grandmom likes to spoil her.  (She accounted for a good half of the gifts).  She got lots of clothes, pool/beach toys, a stool with her name etched into it, books, and other things you will see in the pictures.  The wrapping paper wasn't her favorite thing this year, instead it was putting her clothes over her head...repeatedly.  I'm not sure if she is trying to dress herself or just likes to put things over her head and have them disappear behind her.  Whatever the case, it was hysterical.

We finished our 2 hour party with dessert.  As a diabetic, I want to keep cake with icing out of Evie's pallet for as long as I can.  I opted for angel food cake with strawberries instead.  Her family and friend added plenty of whipped cream to make it more exciting.
