She is ONE!

Today is Evie's birthday!

Nothing major happened today.  Her birthday party is on Saturday.  Since her mother likes to eat, I served Evie all her favorite things today as my way of celebrating this milestone:  pancakes for breakfast, boxed mac n cheese for lunch, and meatballs and spinach ravioli for dinner. 

I spent a lot of today reflecting on the last year.  It's been one long year for us.  I'm so thankful it is behind us.  I feels like ages since she was on the feeding tube and we were making the trip to and from KKI everyday.  For all the fears doctors put in me, we have a beautiful little girl who took her first steps this week.  She is pleasant most of the day and gives family and strangers a toothy smile.  We love her so dearly and look forward to a fun year of toddler hood!
