OCNJ 2015: Boardwalk Fun

If you have been reading my blog long enough, you know that there will be lots of pictures from the beach, the boardwalk, and the obligatory family photos by the dunes and/or lifeguard stand.  So here we are that boardwalk yet again...

This year we only went one time.  We might only be in the amusement ride area for 30 minutes, but it feels like the biggest whirlwind.  The flashing lights, whiny kids, crying kids, screaming with delight kids, the tantruming kids, the beeping horns, the motors on the rides... it is complete stimulus overload.  We probably went through $100 in about 10 minutes on rides.  It is non stop.  One night was plenty.

The kids went on some new rides this year.  The thrill needs to be bigger this year; the firetrucks and boats are for babies, we have big kids now.

He tries to keep up with the big kids, but
he is still the Bray Baby, wanting the baby rides :)

Probably the last time on the firetrucks until
I am the grandmother!

Same dynamic as last year- Cole putting his
hand in the water and Evie correcting him.

Braylen requested to ride the cars this year.  They whipped around the corners.  Their reactions were hysterical.  Evie got in on the action the second time Braylen went on.

I will miss these days of genuine joy

We hyped up the caterpillar roller coaster all year.  As you might recall, Evie was too short to ride it last year.  All year we have been telling her that she needs to eat or she won't be able to ride the caterpillar.  Praise the Lord, she was just tall enough (they measured her twice).  Now we had Braylen crying that he couldn't go on.

She's been waiting 360ish days for this moment

Uncle Sam looks like he grew a little since last year too.  LOL

She did it!

We even got Poppop on a ride this year.  Poppop is the original thrill seeker in my family.  While Laura and Mom kept the bench warm, Dad and I rode the blue roller coaster together.  The caterpillar roller coaster took the blue one's place.  I hope Evie will remember riding the roller coaster for the first time with her daddy, just like I remember my first time many years ago :)

Our night was complete with pizza and other junk food on the boardwalk.

And some cute pictures in our coordinating outfits (honestly, unplanned)

See you next year, Wonderland Pier!
