Never Forget

As we mark the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, it's hard not to reflect on what you were doing that morning or life in general.

I was a junior in college living in Stone Ridge Commons with 3 other girls. My best friend and roommate, Amy, and I were at the gym in our building that morning. We came back to the apartment to find Jackie eating her cereal in front of the TV. The first tower was smoking. We watched as the 2nd plane hit the tower on live TV. The rest of the day is somewhat a blur. I remember going to band practice that afternoon and playing the national anthem with tears in my eyes.

I still tear up on this day watching the TV coverage. Today is also a reminder to not take life for granted. Even though I am going through the hardest summer of my life, I still have my family. It's all that perspective stuff again...

Evie is making big strides at KKI. Since my last post, she only had one day of zero bottles. She takes at least 2 a day, today 4.

The big news- she took her ENTIRE bottle today!! She should take 100 mls. She's been averaging about 50 ml (little under 2 oz). I am relieved to know she can take the entire amount. I will toot my own horn and boast that I can get her to take a bottle the most. Her OT hasn't been able to get her to take anything. Why we are paying all this money for me to be doing all the work is beyond me.

The colic days are coming to an end and we enjoy watching Evie's personality blossom. She is melting hearts at KKI.
