The swing (aka Braylen's bed) is busted.
I guess that's what happens to a near 5 year old swing that has been used about 12 hours a day for the last 4 months. It plays music, the mobile spins, and the stars light up, but the motor must be fried. What good is a swing that doesn't swing?!
I started putting Braylen to sleep on his belly in his crib this weekend. He took a 3 hour nap on Saturday on his belly, only legs swaddled. I thought this was the beginning of a wonderful new era of long stretches of sleep. Ha.
So last night was the first night sans swing. It was rough. I am ready to have a 4 month old sleeper not a newborn!!
The death of the swing could either be a blessing in disguise or the creation of a monster of a mommy. I will keep trying different things- swaddled arms in, swaddled arms out, snuggle sack, back, side, belly, non moving swing, until I am so sleep deprived that I sleep though Braylen hollering for me.
I guess this is paybacks for keeping my mother up for endless nights...

Oh no! A busted swing is a serious problem! Hopefully Braylen will get the hang of sleeping elsewhere...and pronto. You deserve the rest!
