Oh, that's right. I'm 7 months pregnant. There's no crazy these days. I can't even celebrate with a soft pretzel or milkshake! BOO!
Spring Break was a new thing to this Pennsylvania born and raised girl. We had no such thing- we had a slightly longer Easter break. When I taught in MD Public Schools Spring Break fell in line with Easter. In private school, it always falls this week no matter when Easter is. It's glorious! I really like when Easter is a different date than Spring Break. It makes traveling so much easier. Most of my rich private school students go to exotic islands or to Europe. I will be surrounded by beautiful tanned girls next week. While I dream of Spring Break adventures like theirs, it's just not possible with my measly salary and a husband that "can't" take off this week.
As I take a pause in my teaching career for at least a year, I thought back on the last 8 Spring Breaks. Here's what I think I did:
2004: First year of teaching. Jason was still in PA, so I think I went to his place and played wife for a week. I must have been a good one because he proposed later in the year
2005: Bought our house. We spent many nights painting and making lists of what we wanted to do to the house
2006: Vegas!
2007: In exciting Maryland. I remember "playing tennis" with Colleen on a beautiful Spring Day at Centennial Park. My butt hurt so much the next day from bending over picking up all the ball 80 times. We haven't attempted since this outing.
2008: As my mom called it "Dank New Jersey". My mom and I helped Laura paint the nursery in preparation for my baby niece's arrival in May
2009: Colorado!! I went to see my school friend, Noelle, in Castle Rock. Then Jason joined me for some skiing in Breckenridge for Erin's 30th birthday.
2010: My mom visited her girls in Maryland. One highlight was having a picnic by the airport. Hannah loved watching the planes land over our heads.
2011: Boston to visit with Erin and Brian. The same couple from two years ago. We really like them :) Post and pictures coming soon!
