Since the first question everyone asks me these days is "how are you feeling?", here's the update:
I reached 30 weeks cooked on Tuesday.
I felt Nugget hiccup for the first time this week. At first I thought I was feeling my heartbeat in my belly, but then I realized it was Nugget with some super fast hiccups!
My body feels good- no back pain, no swollen ankles. My legs are a little sore from the increase in exercise from about 10 minutes a day to almost 1 hour a day (about three 20 minute walks). I hope Parker is enjoying the longer walks than normal. He needed to lose some winter weight.
The diet is a pain, but I'm hanging in there. I had a few numbers over the limit. It's eat and learn. The midwife today said I'm doing good, but wants me to work on my fasting numbers. I go back in a week to show them my new round of numbers. I really don't want to go on medication. I WILL make this diet thing work.
I didn't gain any weight since my last appointment. So at least Nugget isn't 15 pounds yet. I wasn't surprised- I'm starving most of the day now. My acupuncturist recommended adding more fat to my diet. Go for the beefy, greasy burger (no roll). Jason and I plan to go out for wings or burgers at least once a week. It's really hard for me to switch from eating lean protein back to fatty stuff. I've switched from skim to 1% milk. I don't think I can go as far as 2%.
My acupuncturist saw a connection between some of the issues I've been having and the diabetes. She can't cure me, but will do her best to help me out. I'm glad someone can make some sense of what my body is doing! I'll see her more often. She also can help induce labor once we get a little closer.
Speaking of delivery type stuff- the midwife said they won't let me deliver beyond 40 weeks. This is really good news to me. I don't want to sit around after my due date waiting. Let's get the show on the road. I have a bad feeling Nugget wants an April birthday like all the other Hollencamps. We will give everyone a chance to guess Nugget's birth date once April arrives. Start picking out your day! I will provide more information so everyone can make an educated guess.
That's all for now. Sorry about the boring post.

glad you are feeling good - isn't it cool to feel the hiccups!
I'm sure you've looked at the diabetes websites on the net. There's lots of meal plans to choose from - espcially for b-fast. Try them out.
Hugs!
